Pre-Engineering 

 

 Pre-Engineering students at Westglades Middle will gain an opportunity to explore the area of communications technology and its associated careers.  Students will be given the opportunity to solve technological problems using a variety of tools, materials, processes and systems while gaining an understanding of the effects of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) on our everyday lives. Students will learn the fundamentals of drafting using traditional and digital methodologies.  They will will be immersed in 2-D and 3-D modeling and design techniques and tools.  Students will utilize and be exposed to a variety of digital formats and media, including industry recognized 2D (CAD) and 3D computer modeling software such as Rhino.  Introduction to Technology is a pre-requisite for this course, as well as teacher signature.

NEW: Students will undergo a Microsoft training module in Word, upon completion students will take an industry certification exam.  Students must pass the Microsoft PowerPoint certification exam to proceed to Engineering I, (Next Level of the Engineering CAPE)
